Loads of Photos, blogs I have missed.

I haven't had the time to read all the blogs I enjoy. The few I did were all good fun. Chicks That dig Sports, Dime Store Novels and Pepi's work. I read Aunt Francy's last blog too. I just could not get to all of the blogs. I will catch up someday.
I have been going through over 300 photos my Dad took. I have no idea who some of these people are. I did ask a friend of his he said he didn't know them either.  So what to do with these photos? I am debating as to putting them in the picture book. Many of the pictures are double exposure so they have cool look to them. I have identified all the aircraft and landmarks thanks to the Pima Air Museum. I am no expert on WWII but I understand the pictures are something WWII buff's will love. Now to title the book. Any suggestions welcome and you get credit for it!
Having finished my outline for a book too. It seems a bit long for just one story. My son says just write and we will see.
As for my health, I am feeling better. Still have a lump on my throat and feel off. I find out next week I hope why.

Summer is almost over what a summer for me. Haunted Bedtime Stories is out in about a week and a half. I am looking forward too it. I have also been writing on my next book out next year. So as I slowly heal I have been busy writing. I wish I could have read more. Never enough time and too many books.

Bithdays, computers, writers block not, poems and critical people.

This is my Birthday week. I really don't feel any older, just smarter on some things. I think my family should shower me with presents and a trip! OK fantasy over, I guess I will be getting a new laptop. Mine has sadly died a quiet death. Do computers that die come back to haunt new ones or their owners? Now that is a story Stephen King wrote.
I have been reading wonderful blogs in the last week. One about writers block. I do not believe in it. I think you have times you need to kick start your imagination. Watching telly, YouTube and video games just wont cut it. You need fresh air, go for a walk, take a drive or exercise. Myself I do Pilates and walk my Princess. Also I have found that good writers are also good readers. Nothing like a good book to read. Books I have read that are boring seem as if the writer has never read many books. The writer seems to read just one genre and writer also they don't seem to comprehend what they read. I am no expert but that's how I see it.
Also try some poetry. I have been lucky to know a few poets. I am currently reading some poems by Jacqueline Dick. Check out her poems they are so good, to me. Good poems are really hard to write.   http://1emeraldcity.wordpress.com/ .
It seems the self proclaimed experts on writing are attacking blogs. So if they are experts what degrees do they hold? Where can I read their papers on the subject of writing? If you read every book you can get your hands on, on any subject, doesn't make you an expert. Blogs to me are written how you speak. Not perfect English and some times grammar goes out as well. Also the person who is writing it, where are they from? Do they have an accent? Is English a second language to them? Are you perfect? If not, why attack others? I think many do because they have a superiority complex. They even fear you're the competition and can't deal with it. I also noticed they are cowards and don't use their own names. It has happened to me. Sadly the person who did attack me, did it on Amazon. I know who it is, he wrote the same thing in an e-mail to me. Usually they are vague, use generalities and can't give you an exact example. If you can't say anything nice just don't say anything. I refuse to lower myself to their level, being petty and immature does you no good.
Well I need to get to work finding a computer that will last, work hard and be easy to use for me. I am also reading Full Dark No Stars. I love short stories. What short stories have you read that are good?

Reading great books. My review of a great British book.

How is your week going? Mine not so bad. I had a fun mini road trip up to Phoenix. Its great to see friends and have a good lunch. The best part is a nice drive, makes your imagination go wild.
I finished reading A Proper Charlie by Louise Wise. OK don't walk, run to Amazon.com to buy this. I love horror and other works of good literature and this is great. It is very British but not the stiff upper lip, I am so posh kind. This is how real Brits speak and act.  As for the characters, you soon care about what happens to them and what they are going to do next. Its a bit of a mystery, romance, characters doing research and adventure in London you wouldn't see on a tourist trip. The story is about a newspaper in London, which has over 30 local papers. The characters are worried like so many about losing their jobs due to a takeover. Very current in today's world. This story is very believable. You will fall in love with the main character and worry over her as you turn each page until the end. I wish I could give it 10 stars on Amazon. This is for adults and well written, Louise has a great imagination. Yes, I guess I really loved it.
If you have a book you are reading and love, tell me about it. Oh I haven't forgot, I have been asked many times privately when is Draven Ames doing another short story or better yet a book. He told me today his book is out soon. I can't wait to read it either.

How long do you push your book?

Another week and yet so little feels done. Never enough time to do all one wants. I need 36 hour days, who do I talk to about that?
 I was asked how long I was going to talk about my book. I said about another month. No I didn't go on about it for three months before it came out just two weeks. I also didn't give it away to anyone who asked. Nope no contest to win it before its out. I also am not selling a years work for .99¢. I can't put out four books a year of quality. If you want quantity fine but how is it as a book. How is the research? I feel you get what you pay for. I read many reviews before pricing my book. The things that kept coming up was if its cheap its because it is crap. I saw many say it was a waste of money, worst book I ever read and one said I want my money and time back. All I could say was Yikes! I don't keep tweeting my book, if your getting 100 new followers a day cool do so but other wise your beating a dead book. If you do read a great book, tell the world about it.
So why am I putting another book out four months after the first? Well its a book of short stories I have written over the last two years. Most are ghost related. My novel was written three years ago. My next novel will not be ready for at least a year. I do write everyday.
Now I am almost done reading "A Proper Charlie" by Louise Wise. Its very British and I love it! Its for adults not a kids book so refreshing. Birthdays, writing and telling you what I think again! Beatles poster.

I have a busy week here. First two birthday at my house Son & V are now 25 years old. Which I find hard to understand after all I can't be that old yet. Its also my favorite Beatles George Harrison's birthday today. I still have the posters from the Beatles Apple store in London, I got them on opening day.  Tomorrow is another anniversary 30 years, yes I have heard the joke you get less for murder.
Well I have talked to some really nice people. I am looking forward to working with them on this short stories book. I did get good advice do not rush it. I have also gotten a review saying my book wasn't good. This person said he didn't know how to put it. That is alright.
If you read a book and do not like it to me the best to tell the person. You don't have to scream and shout and be hateful. I know we see that so much now a days. Flipping telly channels you have people yelling about sport, religion or news. I don't believe the louder you yell or tell a lie makes it the truth. So please be kind and say I didn't care for your book because it.... specifically the charters, location, story line. I also have read a books the you could tell were formula written. You can do a step by step almost like paint by numbers. YIKES! If its some part your very knowledgeable about be exact. Generality's and being vague can make one believe you didn't read the book. I worked hard on my book I checked all locations, visited them as well. I believe research is very important in any piece of work you put out. I tell a person how I feel with kind words. I always say how would I want to be told this. My writing comes from my gut not a step by step out line you buy. If you have read my two short stories on this blog let me know what you think of them. I know also not everyone is going to love every thing I write. Thats all right if we all loved the same things just imagine how boring this world would be. I also have read some really cool things which were pleasant surprises, Draven your story!
I have a short story to finish. I also was kindly given a book to read by another writer before its out. I have a good feeling about it. So next weekend I will start reading it. When I am told go for it tell everyone I will tell you all about it.

Nice people.

Well we all keep hearing about the lack civility, sadly it's true. Then you get on twitter and if lucky met many lovely people. I guess this is why many agents when sent a query letter never answer. They just don't have manors. I have heard many say they post out letter's never to hear a word. It's sad they can't even e-mail them if they don't want to spend 47 cents to say nicely sorry not at this time. If this has happened to you, believe me it's them not you. Maybe this is one reason why I am thinking being an Indy writer is good. If your doing all the work you should get 95% of the money. Still I would strongly would tell any writer don't quit! Keep going. Most of the writers I have met on twitter are so talented and I will be the first to tell them don't quit. Myself I keep plugging along. I hope someday to make a living writing until then I will keep writing. Who knows maybe someday my grand children will cash in on it.
In the mean time I am working on turning my Book in to an e-book. I am also working on short story's for a book of them. I so love Stephen Kings Novellas and 'Needful Things' that is one of my favorite books. They are like bedtime stories for grown ups. I have just gotten 'Full Dark, No Stars' please no spoilers of it for me.

The Holidays again.

The holiday season is here again. I have been inundated with request for my Princess's address for gifts. Please give gifts of toys and food to your local animal shelter. My Princess is just that a Princess. I don't hang lights on my house. I have met a writer who's blog I read, so spot on to me about the holidays. Then again he as well writes on the dark side. I have managed to get the holiday cards done. I am behind this year doing that.
Now as for my writing I had a few days I couldn't write anything that made sense. Friday the words started to fly, now to go back to edit. I seem to forget words when I get going to fast. Well I have a few what I think are good ideas for short stories. Sometimes what I think will be short comes out long. We will see.
Oh was just reminded, yes I have cut about 6.5 inches of my hair. The hair goes to charity and I can grow more to go as well. My dear stylist made my hair look so pretty, yea I couldn't repeat the look that well. Maybe in time it will. Princess says lets have breakfast and she has finished off my coffee.

Web sites and Writing

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in America. Its Thanksgiving week here in America. I am really not that in to it. I will make a small turkey for my family. No I wont be out crazy shopping on Black Friday either. I am going to stay home and write.
I have met a guy who does great websites so if you need one please give him a e-mail. I have seen his work and all I can say is WOW! I have been doing some thinking about a Novella for next fall. I have met a few really good writers on twitter and a few in mind. Each of us write our story in our own scary way. Just a quick note to say Hi and thank you again. Princess went to the vet today, she is well. Just two pounds chubby. Took her shopping afterwards for a toy she was so good.
