March in like a Lion and out with a moving van...

Grab a cuppa and have seat. We can catch up on things. Some times life goes in different directions than you thought.

Well, I am moving the end of March to the Portland/Vancouver area of the American NW. I visited there this past Christmas season and it is lovely. Princess loves the idea of getting to where her rain coat more and her jackets. I am glad to have season again as well.

I was also informed by my Doctor I was mis-informed by a Doctor here in Phoenix. I have not been in remission with my RA. Well, I knew that my poor bones have just ached so bad and I have eaten too much tylenol. I am back on proper RA meds so now I can get things done. I feel a bit better it is going to take a good month or more for the meds to kick in.

If you have Instagram you can follow my travels this month and Princess’s wild life. I follow some wonderful people on it and fab photographers.

Well, time to book flights, rental cars and hotel rooms. I hope your all well. Read some books, like Doctor Sleep by: Stephen King.

Camp is Busy

Have a seat and grab a cuppa and relax. I hope you all have had fun this summer so far. Hard to believe the year is half over. Time to start looking for Christmas gifts.

My word count so far 11,500. By the time you read this it will be higher. I am in a nice cabin and have four cabin mates who are writing their little hearts out. We have some who haven’t started yet. I hope they are OK. It can be scary to write 50,000 but it can be done. Just write, I say, edit after you get it down. OK, I am being nuts on spelling myself!

Princess is great. She and I do play daily and she got a new toy this weekend. I know poor thing has so few toys. You can laugh, I realize 50 pet toys might be a lot! Make that 51 now.

It is kind of lonely here. Erich my boss has moved from here. We miss him bunches.

March Edits

Lets have a cuppa.

March, as they say, came in like a lamb and is turning in to a lion. I am editing Three That Haunt and then off to the beta readers. I hope that my artist Natalie and I can add some cool art in the book as well. So hang in there, it’s almost time to get Three That Haunt.

I have also been busy doing a bit of house clearing. I have to downsize this year. No more waiting sadly. Princess refuses to give up her any toys, no matter how battered and bruised. I have to do something with a huge doll I inherited. She is lovely but not something I need. So I will looking for a new home for her. It is funny the things you forget you have and need to go. 

Three friends have had losses this month and I am so sorry I can’t make things better for them. I wish I knew the right thing to say. Each lost someone of a different age group, one very old who had a great life, one in the prime of life and another before it began. All are hurting and all I can do is send love to them. They know they can call just to talk, I will listen as long as they need. So if you're a prayer please say a small prayer they will be alright and grief won’t overtake all the good they have too.

Princess just said, get you bum back to work Mum. As one of my bosses I best mind her. Also I want to send out a huge Happy Birthday out to a dear friend Cherianne! Yes, she is 21 again!

Halloween fun for all.

Well, we are winding down Coffin Hop for another year. You don’t have to miss all the lovely writers and creepy stories. You can visit them anytime. I do hope you will stop in and visit me too. So on Halloween at 5 p.m. PST Princess will pull a name from a bag. 

I always look forward to Halloween all year round. I dress up for the whole day, after all you get a good costume might as well wear it. This is the first year I am going as a ghosts. I have a few Halloween traditions. Breakfast and then dress up. I make a nice spicy chili for tea. I bake cookies or cupcakes in ghost shapes too. I give gifts also to my loved ones and friends. I find fun things to make them smile and pop in some yummy candy. My Halloween Village will be on and the garden will be lit up. We will read nice spooky stories before bed too. I will post pictures of Princess and I dressed up.

Do you have any Halloween traditions? I would love to hear about them. I want to Thank you also for visiting my blog and all the kind words. I am writing and hope to have a new book out by the first of the year.

Summer

Well, summer is here at long last for most. It means reading and relaxing for some. Then you have the rest of us who are doing a hundred things at once. I  try to read my friends blogs during lunch, that works some days. Then I have days I am eating as I do everything else. I have to admit I do forget to eat lunch somedays.
Time is a limited commodity for all of us. Just think when you say I have no time to read. Do you read blogs, tweets, email and edit your work? Well, that is reading. Now as for reading for entertainment I think tweets and the newspaper count.  I have a luxury my kids are grown up so I have a bit more time to read at bedtime. Only if I am not thinking about my work. 
It is summer time and you should not be so hard on yourself. Today do the best you can, it will work out in time. Please don't put so much pressure on yourself, I know you are all hard working people.
I want to thank you all too. You are all good fun. I need to get back to writing now, this book is going to be great! Go get a nice book to read, a half hour before bed. So what Indie writers book are you reading now?

Sending out Love

Its February and a month of love at my house, son's Birthday, Anniversary and lets not forget Valentine's Day. I think its good to tell the people you love you do love them. I do daily. The people who you know and are grateful are in your life tell them as well. 
If asked what I would want as gifts for any occasion I say books. I have over 2000 books in my house. Nope, don't want to sell or give them away. I have many books by Indie writers as well. Now if you want to read some very well written works try an Indie writer. Yes, a few may be some not your cup of tea but you can find about anything. I also suggest you leave a nice review on Amazon, createspace or smashwords if you like the story. If not let it pass. Being hateful serves no purpose.
I am working on picture book now from photos my Dad took at the end of WWII. I have posted a few on my tumblr account. Many of the photo's have been damaged by the way he storied them. I can't tell you how many times I ask him to not use paperclips in negatives! I lost a few too because he used rubber-bands that melted on the negatives. He was not a great photographer even if he thought he was. He used gun film which many of the pictures have double exposures on them. Ghosts of aircraft on people. I will include those too.
All of you, I am sending you lots of love and saying thank you so much for your kindness and support. You are all the best. So go get books for gifts they last longer than Chocolate but reading and Chocolate do go together! 
My health I get a biopsy on the lump in my neck the 22nd. I still feel like I am choking all the time. Yes, I am scared and hate being on hold. The lump wasn't removed it seems. One Doctor will get an earful. I will be OK in time. Thanks for the caring it means the world to me. I am sending you all big HUGS!

It's a New Year!

The holidays are over and the ornaments are put away the new toys are tossed aside. Not all the new toys tossed aside. I have noticed many new e-readers, nooks, kindles and IPads in hands. These are being loved and pampered like a pet. I too am guilty of that. Who doesn't love the something light weight to read. 
So if you got one and some lovely books loaded on it give the writer a check you liked it and a nice review. I am still loading my IPad my son gave me. It is pretty, new and so clear.

Haunted Bedtime Stories and my Vampire Corgi.

I was so thrilled when Natalie Silva finished the cover of my next book. I love it. This book has a bit of everything. With short stories you can do that. Some of my ghosts are scary, some are very touching and some were never human to begin with. Haunted Bedtime Stories has something for everyone. This isn't a children's book. The editing is finishing up now.

I also want to thank you for your support and love, it helps so much. Princess is a big help even when she is acting like a Vampire! 

It has been three weeks today and my foot is still healing. I am not a patient person. I feel I should be up and running. I have pins in the toes still and sadly still need some pain medicine, which I hate. Next week the pins come out. Not quick enough for me! I have gotten a lot of work done even if Laura is laughing at my spelling. You try and write on pills.

Bithdays, computers, writers block not, poems and critical people.

This is my Birthday week. I really don't feel any older, just smarter on some things. I think my family should shower me with presents and a trip! OK fantasy over, I guess I will be getting a new laptop. Mine has sadly died a quiet death. Do computers that die come back to haunt new ones or their owners? Now that is a story Stephen King wrote.
I have been reading wonderful blogs in the last week. One about writers block. I do not believe in it. I think you have times you need to kick start your imagination. Watching telly, YouTube and video games just wont cut it. You need fresh air, go for a walk, take a drive or exercise. Myself I do Pilates and walk my Princess. Also I have found that good writers are also good readers. Nothing like a good book to read. Books I have read that are boring seem as if the writer has never read many books. The writer seems to read just one genre and writer also they don't seem to comprehend what they read. I am no expert but that's how I see it.
Also try some poetry. I have been lucky to know a few poets. I am currently reading some poems by Jacqueline Dick. Check out her poems they are so good, to me. Good poems are really hard to write.   http://1emeraldcity.wordpress.com/ .
It seems the self proclaimed experts on writing are attacking blogs. So if they are experts what degrees do they hold? Where can I read their papers on the subject of writing? If you read every book you can get your hands on, on any subject, doesn't make you an expert. Blogs to me are written how you speak. Not perfect English and some times grammar goes out as well. Also the person who is writing it, where are they from? Do they have an accent? Is English a second language to them? Are you perfect? If not, why attack others? I think many do because they have a superiority complex. They even fear you're the competition and can't deal with it. I also noticed they are cowards and don't use their own names. It has happened to me. Sadly the person who did attack me, did it on Amazon. I know who it is, he wrote the same thing in an e-mail to me. Usually they are vague, use generalities and can't give you an exact example. If you can't say anything nice just don't say anything. I refuse to lower myself to their level, being petty and immature does you no good.
Well I need to get to work finding a computer that will last, work hard and be easy to use for me. I am also reading Full Dark No Stars. I love short stories. What short stories have you read that are good?

Holiday Weekend

I am wishing you all a lovely holiday weekend. To those who are celebrating Easter and Passover have a wonderful holiday filled with love and family. I will be making a roast and Yorkshire pudding.
The new Doctor Who premieres. I hear this is going to good fun the next 6 weeks. As a huge Doctor Who fan, I am looking forward to it, please don't ring me up while its on. I started watching  Doctor Who as a kid, I was so happy to be able to see it on Christmas day here in America.

I am working slowly on the short story book. Life gets in the way some times. Our eldest family member has been in hospital and is now back in her nursing home. Thank you to those who asked. Now for a cup of tea in my TARDIS mug. Cheers!

Been Writing going to Book sale You?

I am very surprised how my book is doing. So many very kind comment about the story. I am very grateful to all who so kindly tweet about. So what am I doing besides asking people to buy my book? Many things.
I went up to Phoenix last week to the annual VSNA book sale. Its a charity sale of books of every kind you can imagine. The doors open at 8 am and always a line. This year it only took an hour in line. I have many books going up for next years sale. The household WWII nut has trimmed his books down. I fear this is to add more books. I did find an first edition book by Ernie Pile. I do believe we now how all his books and first editions too boot. Also tons of maps and many free ones as well. If your in Phoenix in Feb you really need to check out this sale its only one weekend but so worth it. You will see people with shopping carts full of books, to take home. Great fun for a good cause.
This week I have had a few ideas for short stories. So I have been writing. Well I have some say I can have 5 short stories done and edited by May 1st. I will try. As for having my book done in book form. We are waiting on all the sales reports for a month. Son my boss says he feels I need to sell at least 50 print books to make it cost effective. I also hope to add a few never before seen pictures of Tombstone,Arizona. I have been asked if it was a real town still. Yes it is, thats why they call it 'The Town to Tough to Die'. So if you interested please leave a comment on here for me. If you want a signed book I would be more than happy too.
I have also been very lucky to meet many cool writers on twitter. If you can follow a Debbie Mack such a great lady. Her writing is great and very interesting just check her work out.

Thank you all so much for your support. The book is doing surprising well. I have been ask if it will be out in a hard copy. The answer is my boss and I are looking in to that now. My son is the boss and he says we will see in a week how well 'Dust of Tombstone' does.
So I have tried to promote the book as best I can. Its not easy to say hi here look my book. I have had many have said hi back, good job, and I have to read it. Which is so nice to hear. My son has made a Facebook fan page for me. Please follow if you can. Thank you again.
I have been working a few short stories. My boss aka son says you need to get this done and out by May. OK don't count on it. I will try very hard but I am human.

Tombstone Ghost and Thank you.

I want to take a few minutes to say thank you. To all who have called, e-mail or tweeted me, yes I am fine. Tuscon is really a nice place to visit. Sometimes I do get homesick everyone does.
This week has been busy as always. I am working on a cover for my e-book. I took a quick trip to Tombstone for dinner and some pictures. Also to visit the ghost who inspired my book. Again Thank you all for following and visiting my blog.

When your driving east on I-10 leaving Pima County entering Cochise County the winds you feel may be ghost rushing back to the poker game and whiskey that never ends in Tombstone.
